Rhondda Rocks 14th August 2010 Part 2
The Rhondda Rocks Concert was pretty amazing. First up was the brilliant Chris Summerhill.
He was followed by the young upstarts 4th Street Traffic
Next on stage was Simon Fowler of Ocean Colour Scene
Who was joined on stage by The Alarm to belt out a storming version of Ocean Colour Scene's huge hit 'The Day We Caught the Train'

Rhondda Rocks 14th August 2010 Part 1
Spent the weekend in Wales where I took part at Rhondda Rocks on behalf of Love Hope Strength Foundation. The LHS Foundation is a wonderful charity to support and it was nice to see a nice crowd of trekkers out for it. It had been predicted that rain would come but apart from a few spots and a wee downpour near the end it was a beautiful day.
The wonderful Chris Summerhill and Mike Peters provided the musical entertainment for the journey. At the top of the hill Mike peformed a cracking version of my favourite Alarm song - 'Howling Wind' from the 'Declaration' album.
Everyone, everywhere in the world should have access to cancer screening and treatment.
Love Hope Strength Foundation UK was registered as a charity in 2007 and co-founded by Mike Peters, two times cancer survivor and internationally acclaimed singer of Welsh rock band The Alarm.
The charity promotes innovative, music related, outreach and awareness programmes for leukaemia and cancer sufferers, survivors and their families. Each year in the UK, over 250,000 people are diagnosed with cancer. Cancer affects us all.
For my own part I was pleased to have been a part of the event.
A concert followed in the evening and pictures from that will be in the next blog.
