Dedicated To Brian and Ronnie
Two of the biggest fans of The Stranglers I know
Some bands have a habit when it comes to their second album of not delivering the goods but a mere five months after their debut album Rattus Norvegicus which peaked at #4 in the UK Album Chart The Stranglers unleashed No More Heroes and deliver it certainly did!
Something Better Change had been released in July and followed Peaches/Go Buddy Go into the Top Ten. Another Double A-Side, backed with Hugh Cornwell roaring his way through the 2min and 46 second Straighten Out was a great taster for what was to come. The single peaked at #9 on the charts.
My favourite tracks on the album aside from the title track are: Dagenham Dave, English Towns and School Mam.
