The Alarm - Oran Mor Glasgow 9th March 2013
Can't seem to find any links just yet for The Alarm show in Glasgow this past Saturday but will keep hunting.
Set List for Oran Mor (thanks to Per-Ole Wilhelmsen)
I really don't know how they do it but The Alarm just seem to get better each and every performance. There's been a lot of good vibes about the Vinyl Tour and they really brought it big style to Glasgow. The sold out Oran Mor was bouncing as the band delivered one quality tune after another.
A great set that encompased the old and the new and of course music from the Soundtrack to the Vinyl Film.
One of the stand out songs of the set on this tour seems to be 'Down the Road' and there was no doubt about that in this show either.
There was a very moving rendition of 'Spirit of 76' that began with just Mike on the vocals and Mark Taylor on the keyboards that led into the Vinyl section of the set that featured songs originally performed by Mike's Punk band The Toilets, that have been given a new lease of life on the Soundtrack album (which features Phil Daniels on vocals on a good number of the tracks).
One of the best parts of the night though was being involved at the Love Hope Strength stand helping to get people on the list for the Bone Marrow Register. 57 People signed up, best on the tour so far.
A brilliant night all round.
