Eric Burdon - 'Til Your River Runs Dry (April 2013)

I know I seem to say this a lot these days, but the older some people get the better they become. At aged 71 you would think that Eric Burdon could be sitting with his feet up in California (where he lives) and forgetting about playing music ever again. Not so. Eric Burdon has probably released his finest work in years, and apparently he's already thinking about a new album to work on and his currently drafting up a third memoir!

On this album his voice sounds just as good as it ever did. He says he never practises and hates rehearsals and so it's refreshing to hear a man of his age bring to life a quality bunch of songs that seems to draw upon the journey he has walked ever since the days of The Animals back in the 1960's.

If we picked an album of the month (which we don't) then for this month of April Eric Burdon would sit happily on top of the pile.

Checkout the link below that contains some interview material and lyric videos for some of the tracks from the album. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
