Rewind: 1993 Bruce Springsteen - The Lost Television Show

The first tour since The Tunnel of Love Express Tour and Amnesty International...Human Rights Now! Tour back in 1988 and Bruce was back out on the road for a 102 date tour to promote the  Human Touch/Lucky Town albums.

The tour had begun on 15th June 1992 in Stockholm, Sweden and the first leg would have 16 European shows including a five night stand at Wembley Arena that brought the opening part of the tour to a conclusion.

Only one member of the E Street Band accompanied Bruce on this tour and that was The Professor Roy Bittan. The rest of the musicians were termed as "The Other Band" - a name that I have never been happy with because I often feel that certain fans use it to show a lack of respect for the actual musicians who made up the band. They were all gifted and very experienced musicians in their own right. Here's the line up of the band:

Bruce Springsteen (vocals, guitar, harmonica)
Shane Fontayne (guitar)
Tommy Sims (bass)
Zack Alford (drums)
Roy Bittan (keyboards)
Crystal Taliefero (backing vocals, guitar, percussion, saxophone)
Bobby King (backing vocals)
Gia Ciambotti (backing vocals)
Carol Dennis (backing vocals)
Cleopatra Kennedy (backing vocals)
Angel Rogers (backing vocals)
Patti Scialfa (backing vocals, guitar) (some shows)

Ten days after arriving back in the USA Bruce then opened up the second leg of the tour on the 23rd July with an 11 night stand at the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The second leg would go right on through to 17th December where they finished up in Lexington Kentucky.

"The World Tour" (only dates in Europe) would kick off again at the end of March (the 31st to be precise) in Glasgow, Scotland. Top of the Pops filmed 'Lucky Town' that night and it was broadcast the next day on BBC1. The European Tour would take in 27 dates before returning to the USA and performing two benefit shows, firstly at the Brendan Byrne Arena on 24th June in the Concert to Fight Hunger to Benefit World Hunger Year and then at Madison Square Gardens on the 26th June in aid of the Kirsten Ann Carr Fund.
