Happy Birthday Mr Ruffy

(that's me with The Ruts DC in Edinburgh a couple of years back)

Happy Birthday to one of the finest drummers ever to come out of London, the wonderful David Ruffy. If you have been near a TV the past weekend you might have seen him playing alongside Dexys Midnight Runners in the film Nowhere is Home. Here's a performance of 'Come On Eileen' with Ruffy on drums.

Ruffy is best known as the drummer of the legendary South London band The Ruts and nowadays The Ruts DC alongside his old mucker Segs Jennings. But he has also played for Aztec Camera, The Waterboys, Sinead O'Connor, Kirsty MacColl, World Party, Edwyn Collins and he even took the vocals on 'Fairytale of New York' and an All-Star Memorial show for Kirsty MacColl, to name but a few.
