45RPM: #41 6,000 Crazy - Spizz Oil (1978)

Haven't seen it yet but BBC4 aired the first part of Music For Misfits: The Story of Indie last night. From what I can gather they managed to not even mention Spizzoil or Spizzenergi, which is quite bizzare when you consider that the very first Indie Chart #1 back in 1980 was none other than Spizzenergi with Where's Captain Kirk? Bizzare!

Here on Soundtrack4Life we do remember Spizz and Pete Petrol with great glee. Last month we did a 45RPM feature on Soldier Soldier and we have also spotlighted Spizz's latest classic City of Eyes.

Today marks the anniversary of the release of their Debut Single 6,000 Crazy and once again S4L is happy to acknowledge the place that Spizzoil and all the other manifestations of Spizz have within the world of Indie Music.

I actually remember the first time I saw them live as well, supporting The Stranglers at the infamous Battersea Park Show. Just two fellas, one with a guitar and one with a Microphone blasting out tunes about things you never heard songs about before!

My copy of 6,000 Crazy recently discovered in a box in my shed and liberated! Don't have a record player to blast it out though!
