Let The Day Begin...Let The Day Start!: Day 285 - Johnny Cash

Two years after their debut single Hey Porter for Sun Records, Johnny Cash and the Tennessee Two had their Debut Album released (although the album is only credited to Johnny Cash).

Johnny Cash With His Hot and Blue Guitar was also the first ever album release on Sun Records.

All the singles are contained on it apart from Hey Porter and Get Rhythm (which were added to the the CD Reissue in 2002).

So began a musical journey with albums ranging from down and out Country, Rock and Roll, Gospel, Concepts, Christmas and a lot more inbetween. More than 60 albums released in his lifetime, a few released after he had passed and there are way more than 100 compilations in various guises. Add to that over 160 singles as well and it's a vast treasure trove of tunes. Not all of it is brilliant but the gems far outweigh the dross!
