2016 has seen a number of dearly loved musicians pass away and I was saddened to hear the news this morning of the death of Mose Allison - Jazz and Blues Pianist . He died aged 89 (four days after his birthday!) from natural causes.
I won't go into all the details of his life as you can read them in a far better style in Nate Chinen's piece for The New York Times.
Just incase anyone reading this is thinking, "Mose Allison, don't think I've heard of him before", well you are probably mistaken because his songs have been played and recorded by many bands and artists down through the years.
One of the most widely known is Young Man Blues by The Who that opened the Live At Leeds album and was a live favourite.

and there's many more besides.
