With Valentines Day just around the corner and being a bloke I thought I'd search around and find some musical inspiration to that age old question your partner asks you from time to time...DO YOU LOVE ME? 💞
Now, the answer to that question is so totally obvious that you don't need some Doctor of Love 💖 telling you but just in case you are at a loss...
The question Do You Love Me? in music stems back to The Contours and their 1962 single release on Gordy (an offspring label of Motown) in the States and Oriole American in the UK.
The wrong response to the question would be to answer it with that old Half Man Half Biscuit tune I Love You Because (You Look Like Jim Reeves)!
Also a wrong response would be Morrissey's You're The One For Me Fatty! Whilst the lyrics might be a genuine attempt at declaring love for another the title alone would likely cause a terrible row between you and your partner!
The Correct response would be to dig out a copy of Adios Amigos by the Ramones and blast out this great cover of The Heartbreakers classic I Love You!
