Chuck Berry - 18th October 1928 - 18th March 2017 😢

Woke up in the middle of the night and checked the news in passing and was more than a little stunned to read of the passing of one of the great Rock and Roll Legends, Chuck Berry.

He passed away yesterday at his home. This message was posted on his website:

"We are deeply saddened to announce that Chuck Berry – beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather – passed away at his home today at the age of 90. Though his health had deteriorated recently, he spent his last days at home surrounded by the love of his family and friends. The Berry family asks that you respect their privacy during this difficult time."

Whilst we may morun his passing from this life, his musical legacy stands forever etched upon our hearts and lives. The music of Chuck Berry was something that was a part of my growing up and I always smile when I hear the familiar guitar sound that often introduced many of his hit singles.

I still hope that they will release the album Chuck that he was planning to put out. It was to be his first album for 38 years to consist of mainly new material and was being spoken of as his final album.

I could think of no better tribute than to play his Debut Album - After School Session - today. In May this year it will be the 60th Anniversary of its release!
