Rewind: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band - Paris 4th July 2012

A little something to celebrate the 4th of July

After a ten day break following the Isle of Wight Festival on 24th June (click on the link to see just under 30 minutes of highlights), Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band rolled into Paris for two nights on their Wrecking Ball Tour in 2012.

Patti Scialfa joined up with the band for her first European performance on the tour (and her first in Europe since 2008) and her first show since the dates in Los Angeles back in April 2012.

On a very hot night in Paris where there had already been power outages during the day and the air conditioning in the building broke as a result of one of them, the band gave it all they had for over three hours. Also they made sure in the hot arena that those down in the pit were hydrated as they passed out water to the fans who could easily have been slayed by the heat.

Enough chatter though, let's get on with the music...Happy 4th of July to all my American friends and readers of this little blog!

Bonus
A lot of changes to the setlist for Night 2 in Paris including the playing of both Incident on 57th Street and Racing In The Street in a show together for the first time since 1978!
The opening six songs of the set were not necessarily planned, as it was reported that they were going to go from The Ties That Bind straight into We Take Care of Our Own...but hey that's the spontaneous nature of a Springsteen show, you never quite know what's going to happen or if you do, when it is going to happen!
