Rewind: 2002 The Rising Hits #1

On this day in musical history 'The Rising', the 12th Studio by Bruce Springsteen, hit the number one spot in the USA (it stayed there for two weeks and was also #1 in the UK Album Chart). The album was the first album in 18 years to feature The E Street Band and also his first studio album for seven years ('The Ghost of Tom Joad' was released in 1995).

The album was nominated for a Grammy but was beaten out by Norah Jones' debut album 'Come Away With Me'. The title track though did win a Grammy.
