*****
The Debut Single version of Rock Lobster that was released on DB Records in 1978 was a wee bit different to the version they released in 1979 for Island/Warner Bros. and 52 Girls on the B-Side was performed in a different key from the album version.
I still have a lot of love for this album. It's quirky in the extreme, humorous. kitchy, colourful and laid the foundations for a band who throughout their career have released fantastic danceable tunes. They may not have been embraced by one and all but when I first heard Planet Claire (the single was released on the same day as the album) at my local record shop I knew that this was a band I was going to like a whole lot.
